Shield616 Donations

The Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with SHIELD616 are seeking donations to raise funds to provide four deputies with a Plate carrier Vest with Sheriff Patches. Front and Back NIJ (National Institute of Justice) Level III, rifle rated armor plates, a MICH Ballistic Helmet and upgraded harness (meets NLI Level III and IIIA and US MIL STD 662F standards) and a Police Trauma Kit.

In 2017 there were 29 active shooter incidents in the United States. According to the FBI’s Analysis of 160 active shooter incidents between 2000 and 2013, suicide and gunfire exchange with Law Enforcement ended 70% of these events. In 2017 46 Law Enforcement Officers gave the ultimate sacrifice due to gun shots, 55% of whom were wearing body armor. In 2018, 52 Law Enforcement Officers died in the line of duty due to gun shots.

The cost to equip each deputy with this vital lifesaving equipment is $1500.00 per Deputy. This is equipment that the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office does not have the funds for. Our goal is to raise $6000.00 to purchase this vital, lifesaving equipment.

The equipment will be issued to each deputy to be utilized during critical incidents, active shooter incidents and any other incident that requires deputies to utilize this type of essential gear. You are invited to stop by the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office located at 91 East 1st St, Cheyenne Wells, Colorado to view this equipment.

This donation is tax deductible.

We ask for assistance by making a monetary donation in the amount of your choice to SHIELD616, c/o New Horizons Foundation, 5550 Tech Center Drive, Suite 303, Colorado Springs, CO. 80915. Please include your email address with the donation and indicate that you want the funds to go to the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office.

SHIELD616 will, in turn, purchase and provide the equipment to the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office.

Thank you for your time and consideration with this vital project.

Sincerely,

Sheriff Jeff Miller and the Deputies of the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office
